Kids Draw Rockets

Kids draw rockets is an annual tradition started by fellow Spaceflight artists and I

In November 2020 we started working on this event where parents could post drawings on Twitter that their children had done, with the hashtag #KidsDrawRockets. From there we collected all of them, and chose af few that we liked, made them in 3D, and posted our renders on Twitter. The response was overwhelming, and all of us agree that it has been one of the biggest highlights of our year, both in 2020, and in 2021.

We look forward to continue this tradition in the coming years. Check out all of the submissions and renders here: https://twitter.com/KidsDrawRockets/

My first contribution to the project. Turned this lovely drawing with lots of elements in to a 3D scene

I also made this wonderful rocket in 3D, it has lots of swirls and giant wings! So I thought it might be reusable…

This was such a unique contribution, made with paper, glitter, and a pipe cleaner! I had to make it come to life and put it in orbit! [2021]

And animated it for a short gif!

So I made this animation of the rocket landing as the second stage takes off!

Never underestimate the creativity of children. This contribution from December 2021 was just too great to not make.

Booster separation had to be done! [2021]

Look at that wonderful little pipe cleaner! [2021]
